3 mill owners booked for shortfall of paddy

Three owners of a rice mill were today booked for the alleged shortfall of paddy worth Rs 1.42 crore, police said.

During the inspection of Saini Rice mill godowns, state -owned agent Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (PUNSUP) found that there was a shortfall of 3,837 quintals of paddy worth Rs 1.42 crore.

The rice mill was given 31,039 quintals of paddy for milling. But it was found that mill had only 27,202 quintals lying at its godowns, police said.

Pathankot SSP Rakesh Kaushal said Sahib Dyal, Dharam Singh and Anil Saini, all owners of Saini Rice Mill have been booked under various sections of IPC.
 

However, the accused were absconding.
