3 NLFT insurgents surrender in Tripura

A top militant of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and two of his associates have surrendered before the Tripura Director General of Police and deposited arms and ammunition, police said today.

Self-styled 'deputy chief of army staff' of NLFT Atharababu Halam and two of his associates 'corporal' Mohan Debbarma and 'major' Uttam Kumar Jamatiya surrendered to DGP K Nagraj at the police headquarters yesterday and deposited two pistols, one Chinese grenade and many cartridges, SP (Police Control), Uttam Kumar Bhowmick said.

They would be brought under the rehabilitation package of the surrendered insurgents.
