The Teesta Barrage project in West Bengal, the Shahpur Kandi project in Punjab over Ravi river and Gosikhurd project in Maharashtra are in the stage of execution, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources has said in its report on the Demand for Grants (2012-13) of the ministry.
For the 14 projects, the proposal is to provide 90 per cent project cost of irrigation and drinking water component as central grant.
Once completed, the irrigation benefit from theses projects is estimated to be about 21 lakh hectare, apart from additional indirect benefits, including availability of drinking water.
Besides Teesta, Gosikhurd and Shahpur Kandi, the other projects include Nao Dehang Dam Project and Upper Siang Project (Arunachal Pradesh), Kulsi Dam Project (Assam), Renuka Dam Project and Gyspa Project (Himachal Pradesh), Kishau Project (Himachal Pradesh/Uttarakhand), Bursar Project and Ujh Multipurpose Project (Jammu and Kashmir), Ken-Betwa Project (Madhya Pradesh), second Ravi Vyas Link (Punjab) and Lakhvar Vyasi Project (Uttarakhand).
