Three persons of a family were injured in the wee hours here today when their car was hit by a cab coming from the opposite direction, police said.

The victims were identified as Ashok Paliwal (60), Madhuri Paliwal (50) and their son Rajat (24).

The incident happened when Rajat was taking his parents to New Delhi Railway station as they had to catch a train to Bhopal. When he reached Akshardham flyover, a cab coming from opposite direction swerved dangerously, crossed the road divider and hit his car, said a police official.

The cab, a hired vehicle of a call centre, did not have passengers at the time of the incident. Its driver fled the spot soon after the mishap.

Passersby called the police at around 5:30 pm after which policemen reached the spot and rescued all the three injured from the mangled vehicle after breaking open its windows. They were rushed to Kailash hospital in Noida where their condition is said to be critical.

Police registered a complaint and efforts are on to nab the driver of the cab.

Rajat is a final year B tech student and resides in Greater Noida with his family while the cab was on its way to bring call centre employees to the office.
