3 of family die as their bike rams truck

A man, his wife and their two-year-old son, on way to their native place to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, were killed when their motorcycle rammed into a stationary truck laden with steel pipes here this morning.

The family, hailing from Delhi, was heading towards Bulandshar on the bike to celebrate Raksha Bandhan when the accident happened at Sabli crossing at around 7.30 am, police said.

Kapil, aged 30, his wife Meenu and their two-year-old son died instantly, they said.

"Kapil lost control of his motorcycle and rammed it into a stationary truck laden with steel pipes protruding from the vehicle," police said.
 

The truck broke down last night and was parked on the roadside.

After the accident, the truck driver and the helper fled from the scene.
