3 officers suspended for dereliction of duty in Haryana

Haryana government has suspended three officers for alleged dereliction of duty which resulted in death of 20 animals belonging to 18 farmers in Nidana village of Jind district.

Those who have been suspended are Sub-Divisional Officer of Jind cum Deputy Director Ranjit Singh Malik, Veterinary Surgeon Dr Rajinder Singh Thind and Veterinary Livestock Development Assistant (VLDA) Bijender Singh, a spokesperson of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department said today.

Ravinder Narwal, Sub-Divisional Officer of Safidon has been entrusted with the additional charge of Deputy Director-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer, Jind.

The charge of Government Veterinary Hospital (GVH) in Nidana has been entrusted to Dr Rajbir Chahal and Veterinary Surgeon at Government Veterinary Hospital Sindhwi Khera has replaced Dr Thind.
 

Expressing concern over the death of 20 cattle, Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister O P Dhankar has announced immediate financial assistance from his discretionary fund to the owners of the cattle.

Rs 25,000 would be given for each dead buffalo and Rs 10,000 for each dead calf, he said.
