Three persons on their way to meet a bereaved family were killed when their car collided with a bus near Musiri in the district today, police said.
Alex Vijay, running a wood carving shop here, his mother and aunt were proceeding in the car when the mishap occurred, killing all of them on the spot.
Vijay lost control of the vehicle which then collided with a state-owned transport corporation bus and plunged into a roadside pit.
