Three persons were killed when a huge boulder, loosened by monsoon rains, rolled down a mountain and hit an SUV in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Siang district today, police said.

Superintendent of Police, Lower Siang, S Singhpho said the SUV was going to Silapathar in Assam from Basar when the boulder rolled down the mountain slope and hit the vehicle, killing three persons and injuring some people.

The SP did not specify how many people were injured.

This was the second such incident within 24 hours.

Five ITBP personnel were crushed to death and seven injured when a huge boulder rolled down a mountain and hit their vehicle on the Basar-Akajan road in the district yesterday, police said.

On June 24, five labourers were buried alive when a retaining wall of an under-construction RCC building collapsed on a labour barrack at Donyi Colony area in Itanagar.
