3 pilgrims killed in road accident in Kishtwar

Three pilgrims were killed when their vehicle turned turtle in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir this evening.

The incident occurred in Bhanderkoot area of the district when the driver of the matador lost control over the vehicle after it developed some technical snag and turned turtle late this evening, a police officer said.

Three persons died on the spot, he said, adding police reached the spot and evacuated the dead from the site of the accident and the bodies will be handed over to their relatives after conducting legal and medical formalities tomorrow.

The vehicle, carrying pilgrims of Mata Sarthal Devi, was on its way to Tagood area of the district, he said.
 

A case has been registered and further investigations started, the officer added.
