Three members of the
ultra outfit People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) including its area commander were arrested following a brief encounter in Murhu jungle under Murhu police station in the naxal-hit Khunti district, a senior police officer today said.
Addressing a press conference here, Superintendent of Police Anis Gupta said the encounter took place when security personnel comprising of CRPF and District Armed Police were on a search operation in the naxal stronghold areas on Monday.

Gupta said around 25 rounds were fired by the police during the encounter forcing the ultras to make a hasty retreat.
The security personnel, however, managed to nab three including area commander Pravin Pradip Kerketta alias Pintu, Johan Bodra alias Bhagat and Ajay Kerketta, he said.
One rifle of 12mm bore, 25 rounds ammunition, three country-made pistols and 14 live cartridges of 7.62 bore were recovered from them, he added.
