Sources said that a minor blast had occurred last night at Badaber on the outskirts of the city and a bomb disposal unit in-charge Abdul Haq and other personnel of the team were on way to the scene of incident early this morning.

A roadside planted bomb near Sheikh Mohammadi area of Badaber went off and destroyed the vehicle.

Sub-inspector Abdul Haq, constable Imtiaz and the driver of the vehicle Kashif were killed in the blast. The injured persons were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

Police and other security personnel have cordoned off the area and another bomb, containing four kilograms of explosive materials, was defused after a search operation.
