Three soldiers were today seriously injured in an IED blast in Pakistan's restive northwest, security sources said.

The blast occurred in Ladha area of the lawless South Waziristan tribal region, the sources said.

Earlier in the day, there were two IED explosions in adjoining North Waziristan though no one was injured.

Terrorists planted the explosives on the routes of military convoys and they exploded within a span of two hours.

The first IED went off in Khar Qamar area while the second one exploded near Kalanjar post, a short distance from Miranshah town, the sources said.

The IED at Khar Qamar exploded when a bomb disposal squad was clearing the area for the movement of the military convoy.
