3 students notice movement of leopard in residential area

: Close on the heels of some women noticing a leopard at Thudiyalur on the city outskirts, three students also reportedly spotted the feline on the road, police said today.

A 10th standard student and his brother were going to their home in Meenakshi Garden area, they noticed the animal crossing the road ahead of them. They immediately informed their parents.

Even as the news spread, another student said he had also noticed a leopard moving near a bush, triggering panic in the area, police said.

Some residents went to the spot to ascertain the truth behind the students' claim.Forest department officials arrived there and assured them that the animal would be driven away.
 

The leopard had reportedly taken away a few goats and cattle from the area about 10 days ago.

The women were on their morning walk when they noticed the leopard.
