Three youths suspected to be Islamist fundamentalists were today apprehended by Assam Police in Chirang district, IGP (Bodoland Territorial Area Districts) LR Bishnoi said.
The official said that 10 youths were undergoing training at Daukhanagar under Dhaligaon police station in the district from where police could catch hold of the three persons while the rest fled the scene.
The nabbed trio has been identified, but the name of their outfit is yet to be ascertained, Bishnoi said, adding that while the youths were found to be undergoing unarmed physical training, they were planning to later receive armed training as well.
