3 tea garden labourers die

Official sources said the three deaths, since last night, were caused by fever but the nature of the ailment was not yet known.

The leader of Progressive Tea Workers' Union A K Buxla alleged, however, that the labourers perished of malnutrition after not getting wages and ration for the past two months.

The SDO and BDO of Mal visited the settlement and gave Rs 20,000 to each family under NREGS.
