3 tourists from TN killed in road accident in Himachal Pradesh

Three tourists from Tamil Nadu were killed and 14 others injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling rolled down a deep gorge in Chhadol in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh today.

The passengers of the ill-fated Tempo Traveller, which was packed to capacity, were relatives and were on their way to the famous tourist destination of Manali.

The accident took place in Chhadol near Swarghat, about 120 kms from here.

Two persons, identified as Jagrati and Jai Raman, died on the spot, while N Kumar succumbed to his injuries on way to a hospital, police said.

The injured were rushed to the Bilaspur hospital and were stated to be out of danger.
 

The cause of the accident was not immediately known, but some passengers said that the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve and lost control of the vehicle.

Police have registered a case.
