3 trucks, wooden goods charred in factory fire

Three mini-trucks and a large stock of wooden goods were reduced to ashes when fire broke out at a factory in Guru Nanak timber market here this morning, police said.

No loss of life was reported in the mishap. However, three mini-trucks parked near the factory and the wooden goods stocked inside the ill-fated premises were charred in the blaze, fire brigade sources said.

The fire brigade personnel managed to control the fire after four hours of hectic efforts with the help of 11 tankers and prevented a major accident in the timber market.

The cause of the blaze was yet to be ascertained, they said.
