Three undertrial prisoners today escaped from the custody of police at English Bazar Police station in Malda district.
"Lab Mondal, Byomkesh Karmakar and Sabirul Sk, who were arrested on the charge of carrying fake currency notes, broke open the window of a toilet and escaped from the police custody early this morning," Superintendent of Police Kalyan Mukherjee said.
Earlier, they were produced before a local court and was remanded to police custody, the police said.
