Punjab government today said the construction of three scientifically designed regional warehouses at Verka, Bathinda and Kharar for storage of drugs and consumables would be completed by October this year.
The warehouses are being established by the Punjab Health System Corporation at a cost of Rs 3.76 crore, state Health minister Madan Mohan Mittal said here.
"These regional warehouses are being constructed as per the designs of warehouses of Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation. Construction of these three regional warehouses is expected to be completed by October, 2013," he said.
The warehouses are being set up for storage and timely distribution of medicines while putting in place an online inventory management system, the minister said, adding it would bring transparency in the supply and purchase of drugs.
