Basanti Jena (45) of Raipur, Kalpana Bhakta (24) of Akandi and Kalpana Sasmal (35) of Kainagari were working in their paddy fields when they were struck by lightning, police said, adding they died on the spot.
The area has been lashed by thunderstorm.
