3-year-old boy falls into 150-ft deep borewell

A 3-year-old boy has fallen into a 150-feet deep borewell at Sultanpur Kheria village under Dabra tehsil here, police said today, adding rescue efforts were underway.

The boy identified as Abhay Pachouri had got stuck at the depth of nearly 25 feet in the borewell in an agriculture field in the village, after he fell into it last evening, Inspector General (IG) Gwalior, Adarsh Katiyar told PTI.

"Efforts are on to rescue the child by deploying teams of local police, administration, BSF and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)," he said.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the kid fell into the borewell while returning home along with his grandmother and elder sister.
 

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in a tweet, "Serious efforts are on by the rescue team to save the child. Doctors are also present at the spot and I pray for the long life of Abhay, who fell in a borewell in Kheria village.
