A three-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by unidentified persons in a slum area near Jassian Road at Haibowal, police said today.
In his FIR, the father of the victim said that the minor victim was found in a semi-nude state and bleeding profusely at a little distance from their shanty in the morning today, they said.
He said that unknown to her family members, the girl was raped last night by unidentified persons.
"It could be a case of gangrape as there were severe injuries on her body," Assistant Commissioner of Police, R Chaudhry, told reporters here.
The minor, who was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to PGI, Chandigarh, was fighting for her life, police said.
A case in the matter has been registered against unidentified persons although no arrests have been made so far, they added.
