3 youths booked for murder bid on man

A 22-year-old youth was injured after being attacked by three youths, as he refused to help them in a murder, police said today.

Vinod Kunda Rapu, a resident of Kamathghar area, was attacked yesterday with a knife by Afroz (24), Ramesh (25) and Fiaz (24) after he refused to assist them in a contract killing, police PRO Sukhada Narkar said.

Rapu was waylaid and not allowed to escape, she said, adding, the accused fled the spot after the passers-by gathered.

The victim was admitted to a hospital, Narkar said.

The four accused have been booked under relevant sections of IPC, she said.
 

The miscreants were known to the victim, police sub Inspector (PSI) A R Mahajan said, adding, efforts are on to nab them.
