A polytechnic student was today sentenced to three years' imprisonment by a women's court here for sexually harassing a Class IX girl on July 4, 2014 at Kattupiringam in the district.
The prosecution case was that Satheesh Kumar, a second year diploma student, had accosted the girl while she was returning from school that day, taken her to a deserted area and sexually harassed her.
Judge Lingeswaran today convicted the student and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment.
