30 injured in bus mishap

At least 30 persons,

including 23 women and four children, were injured when a tourist bus in which they were travelling overturned near Charampa in Bhadrak district today.

The bus carrying pilgrims and tourists from Murshidabad district in West Bengal was on way to Puri when it turned turtle leaving around 30 passengers injured, a police officer said.

The injured persons included 23 women and four children, the officer said, adding, they were admitted to Bhadrak Hospital and four of them were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where their condition was stated to be critical.
 

Police personnel from Charampa and fire bridge team rushed to the spot after the mishap and rescued the passengers from the bus.

The driver of the bus fled from the site soon after the mishap, the officer added.
