30-kg can bomb found in forest

A powerful can bomb planted on a road was today recovered from Gundijora village under Jaraikela police station in naxal-affected West Singhbhum district.

Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Singh said the 30-kg can bomb was planted on a kucha road to target security personnel ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

It was recovered when CRPF and District Armed Police personnel were on routine patrolling in the naxal-affected Saranda forest.

The explosive was defused by the bomb disposal squad.
