A 30-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after his in-laws refused to send his wife with him in Dehri village under Rasra Kotwali police station area here, police said today.
Navin Kumar Gupta sprinkled kerosene and set himself ablaze last night. He was rushed to district hospital in a serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries, Dy Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Singh said.
Gupta had come to the village to take his wife back on July 6 but his in-laws refused to do so, Singh said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
