30-year-old woman jumps before metro

A woman allegedly atempted commit suicide by jumping in front of a metro train at Janakpuri West Metro station here today.

According to the police, the 30-year-old woman, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was left criticlly injured after she jumped in front of the metro at around 7:29 PM at Janakpuri West metro station's track.

"The driver of the train applied emergency brake as soon as he saw her jumping on the track. She was stuck in the metro engine in the incident. She was rescued by 8:05 PM and rushed to Mata Chanan Devi hospital where her condition is stated to be critical," said a Metro official.
 

Train services were delayed on the Dwarka-Noida city centre route due to the incident.

"Due to emergency stoppage of the train during the peak hour, metro services were affected and trains were delayed," a Metro spokesperson said.
