300 tourists among 400 stranded people rescued in JK

"Over 100 vehicles got stranded at Durbuk near Chang La Pass yesterday due to a landslide...The civil administration, police and army had launched a joint rescue operation and created an alternate road for evacuating the trapped passengers," a senior police official told PTI over phone from Leh, 434 km from here.

"All the trapped people - over 300 tourists and around 100 locals - were evacuated to safety," he said.
