31 persons, including a former village head, have been booked under Goondas act as a preventive measure for the upcoming Panchayat elections in Sikri village, police said today.
Former Gram Pradhan Jamshed, his two brothers Sanever and Naushad were yesterday booked under the Goondas act along with 28 others, Station House Officer of Bhopa police station, Vinod Panwar said.
Jamshed was previously involved in criminal activities including kidnapping, Panwar said.
The action has been taken as a preventive measure to smoothly conduct Panchayat polls, the SHO said.
