More than 30 gamblers were arrested and over four lakh cash was seized from their possession in two separate raids conducted at Maswanpur and Tatya Tope Nagar areas here, police said today.
Of the two raids, 23 gamblers were arrested from a vacant flat belonging to Ramesh Chandra Yadav in Manswanpur area yesterday, Kanpur SSP K Immanuel said.
Cash worth Rs 45,600 was seized along with 26 mobile phones, 12 stacks of playing cards, nine motorcycles and a car.

In the second raid, the police swooped the house of Vikas Sachan, a resident of Tatya Tope Nagar, where 10 people were arrested, SP West Harishchandar said.
Cash worth Rs 1,40,000, ten mobile phones, two motor cycles and a scooter were recovered from the place, he said.
Similar raids will be conducted against gambling in the run-up to Diwali and few days following the festival, police added.
