Thirty-three persons from Bihar, who were engaged as labourers illegally at a private company at Kuditini near here, were rescued by district administration officials today.
The labourers were rescued during a raid conducted on a tip-off from the National Human Rights Commission, officials said.
The district officials led by Assistant Commissioner H B Budeppa conducted the raid, after which the labourers had been sent to a rehabilitation centre, they said.
Kuditini police have registered a case against three labour contractors and a private company.
