33 students injured in clash in port city

At least 33 students were injured in a clash that broke out between two groups at a corporate residential college at Midhilapuri Colony in Madhurawada on the outskirts of the city, police said today.

The incident took place late last night, in which Telugu and non-Telugu students clashed, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhurawda Sub-division) D Ravi Babu said.

"Telugu and non-Telugu students of intermediate course of a corporate residential college clashed over collecting water from the tap at the college late last night. 33 students received injuries in the incident," he said.

Three of the students suffered fractured fingers, Babu said adding, "They are undergoing treatment at a local hospital, while thirty others, who received minor injuries, were given first aid."
 

Police are investigating the case.
