As many as 332 women constables, today took oath to serve the nation after the passing out parade during their convocation ceremony at the Hoshiarpur-based training centre of the Border Security Force near here.
After the oath-taking ceremony, meritorious recruits were awarded medals for their performance during the training.
The oath to 332 women constables was solemnised by BSF Punjab Frontier Deputy Inspector General R S Katariya.

The women recruits were rigorously trained for a period of 11 months during which they were skilled in operating weapons, patrolling the borders, warfare tactics and to respond during natural calamities among others, Katariya said.
The passing out candidates hailed from Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha, the DIG said.
