As many as 35 candidates filed their nominations Monday for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections from Karnataka on April 23.
Prominent candidates who filed nominations include BJP's G M Siddeshwara from Davangere, Veena Kashappanavar (from Congress-Bagalkot), BJP candidate Raja Amareshwara Naik (from Raichur) Congress candidate Rajashekar Hitnal (Koppal) and BJP candidate Y Devendrappa (Ballari).
The three-time Davangere MP, Siddeshwara is seeking a fourth term.Similarly 68-year-old Parvatagouda Gaddigoudar from the BJP is also seeking a fourth term from Bagalkot.
According to officials, 72 candidates have filed their papers for the second phase of polls comprising 14 Lok Sabha seats in Northern part of Karnataka.
The last date for filing nomination is April 4.
Scrutiny will take place on April 5 whereas the last date of withdrawal is April 8.
