At least 35 people were injured, hundreds of mud houses were damaged and huge amount of crop was damaged in the severe storm which lashed Jalpaiguri district, a district official said today.
Around 35 people were injured in the storm which lashed the district last night, the official said.
Dhupguri Block, Malbazar sub-division and Dooars area suffered crop losses in the storm, the sources said.

Hundreds of trees and electricity poles were uprooted in the storm. The uprooted trees and poles blocked the roads affecting road communication in the district, they said.
Electricity supply was yet to be restored in many areas of the district, they said adding workers were clearing the uprooted trees to restore road communication.
Many tea gardens in the Dooars area also suffered losses in the storm, they added.
