A woman train burglar was arrested at the railway station here today and 35 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth Rs nine lakh and Rs 70,000 in cash seized from her, police said.
She was later produced before the court and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
Beena (35), hailing from Aluva near Kochi, stole the jewellery and cash from a sleeping woman passenger of Bangalore-Thrissur express and alighted, railway police said.
However, the passenger woke up and raised an alarm after noticing her hand bag containing the valuables and cash was missing.
The railway police gave chase,nabbed the woman and recovered the hand bag.
