A 35-year-old man and a young woman were found dead under suspicious circumstances in Raal village of the district, police said today.
The brother of the deceased man has lodged a police complaint stating that the 22-year-old dead woman's father had killed them both on account of an illicit relationship between them, SP (City) Omveer Singh said.
According to the complaint of Man Singh, brother of deceased Mohan, the woman's father Bhuri Singh called Mohan, who was working as a tailor under him, to his house last night and killed him with a sharp-edged weapon.
Bhuri then killed his daughter, dragged both dead bodies to his shop near his house and pretended that somebody else had murdered them, Man said in his complaint.
Six persons, including Bhuri, have been named in the police report.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem, the SP said.
Man also alleged that Bhuri had taken a loan of Rs two lakh from his younger brother, he said.
Bhuri has reportedly fled with his family members.
