350 detonators, explosives recovered in Bengal

A total of 350 detonators and five kg explosives were recovered from an unauthorised coal depot at Kuldiha, 50 km from here, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted two coal-laden trucks and following inputs from the drivers, raided the depot run by a coal mafia Raju Jha last night, Superintendent of Police S M H Mirza said.

During the raid, police recovered the detonators and explosives, besides 23 kg ganja. An expensive car parked there was also seized, Mirza said.

Ten persons were arrested, while Jha fled.
