36 CISF personnel decorated with President's Police Medal

Thirty-six CISF personnel have been decorated with the President's Police Medal on the eve of the 66th Republic Day here.

The awardees include Deputy Commandant Hemendra Singh who is posted at the force's headquarters here and is heading its public relations wing.

Singh has been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, besides Inspector General K Jayanth Murali and Assistant Commandant G R Nair.

The officer, who joined the force in 1984, has worked in the security grid of some of the most sensitive airports in the country like Chennai, Delhi and Calicut, apart from various other specialised commands.
 

Recipients of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service include DIG Jyoti Sinha (Airport sector) and Assistant IG Prabodh Chandra (Training).

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is mandated to secure 59 civil airports in the country, besides vital infrastructure in the public and private sector and those in the nuclear and aerospace domain.
