Food Department officials today seized 363 cooking and commercial gas cylinders worth around Rs 5.50 lakh from an agency, allegedly involved in their refilling and supply.
A complaint about irregularities was received against Sundaram Gas Agency at Sudama Nagar here by the Food Department of the collector's office, a statement from the state government said here.
After the complaint, the agency's office and godown were searched. Irregularities were detected in stock keeping and other records after which 363 cylinders were seized, it said.
The agency has been booked for violating Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order 2000's rules and regulations, the statement said.
