377 bottles of smuggled liquor seized, 2 arrested

In a crackdown on bootleggers, the Excise Department and police conducted joint raids in different places of the district last night and seized over 350 bottles of smuggled liquor.

The Sector 49 police arrested liquor smuggler Raja Ram from Sarafabad area last night and seized 130 bottles brought in from neighbouring Haryana.

Meanwhile, a district excise team recovered 172 liquor bottles from an abandoned car from near Panchsheel Inter College. The car driver managed to flee. An FIR has been lodged at Noida Phase 2 police station in this connection.

At Dankaur, another liquor smuggler - Babloo - was arrested along with 75 bottles from near Kheda village.
 

District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav said bootleggers smuggle in liquor from neighbouring Haryana as the price is less there.
