At least 38 people died due to tuberculosis (TB) in Mizoram last year out of 2,088 people found to be carrying the disease, state health minister Lal Thanzara said here today.
Addressing a function of the occasion of the World TB Day, Lal Thanzara said that 84 per cent of TB patient were cured after treatment in the state during the same period.
CB-NAAT, an equipment for detection of Multi Drug Resistant TB was already in use in Aizawl while installation of the equipment was completed in Lunglei and Champhai district hospitals, he said, adding that 178 people were found to be patients of the Multi Drug Resistant TB.
