38 more test positive for dengue in Delhi

While 37 cases were reported from three municipal corporations, one case was reported from VVIP areas in the capital.

A total of 1,249 cases of dengue have been reported so far this season, which includes 11 cases that originated from outside the city.

Two children have so far succumbed to dengue ever since the disease spread in the capital early last month.

South Delhi Municipal Corporation reported the maximum of 468 cases, while 416 cases were detected from North Delhi Municipal Corporation area and 309 from East Delhi Municipal Corporation area.

Other cases were reported from NDMC and Delhi cantonment areas.

 

In 2011, a total of 857 cases were reported and five deaths took place, while in 2010, a total of 5,682 dengue cases and eight deaths were recorded in the capital.
