: As many as 50 foreign delegates will take part in the third edition of "Global Flori Fest" and "International Symposium on Succulents and Other Ornamentals" to be held here from January 22 to February 2.
The flori fest 'Pooppoli' organised at Regional Aaricultural Research Station (RARS), Ambalavayal will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy tomorrow.
The CM is also likely to make an official announcement on the new agricultural college at Ambalavayal on the occasion, a release from the Kerala Agriculture University said. The International Symposium, jointly organized by the Kerala Agricultural University and the International Society for Horticultural Scientists (ISHS), will be from January 24.

Eminent personalities, including ICAR Director General Dr S Ayyappan, Dr N K Krishna kumar, Deputy Director General (Horticultural Science), Dr S K Malhotra, Horticultural Commissioner, Dr Kiat W Tan of American Orchid Society, Mr Johan Hermans and Mrs Joyce Stewart of Royal Horticultural Society will participate in the symposium.
The release quoting KAU Vice-chancellor Dr P Rajendran said "Wayand is selected for the first ISHS Conference in India on account of its rich bio-diversity and rare germplasm in the hilly tract.
The international symposium will expose this hither to unexplored potential to global traders, thereby opening up new avenues for farmers and agri preuners here".
While 12 lakh people visited Pooppoli-2015, more than twenty lakh visitors are expected for this year's Global flori fest, the release said.
