4.4-magnitude quake hits Andaman

A medium intensity earthquake measuring 4.4 on Richter Scale today hit the North Andaman Islands region.

According to National Centre for Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, the quake occurred at 4:47 PM at the depth of 10 kms.

The Anadman and Nicobar archipelago and the area around is known to be high seismic zone.
