Four injured Afghan Taliban militants heading to Peshawar for treatment were arrested today by Pakistani security forces from the restive Balochistan province.

The four men were arrested when their vehicle was intercepted by law enforcement agencies in Zhob district.

The forces shifted the apprehended militants for interrogation to an undisclosed location.

They were later handed over to police and a case was registered against them. The condition of the injured Taliban men was yet to be ascertained, a security official said.

Afghanistan Taliban have been active in Zhob district whose borders extend along both Pakistan's tribal belt and neighboring Afghanistan.

In 2007, a top Pakistani Taliban commander Abdullah Mehsud was killed in security forces' operation Zhob.
