4 arrested with heroin worth Rs 1.20 cr

Four persons were arrested and Rs 1.20 crore-worth of heroin was seized from their possession at the Polytechnic crossing here.

They were arrested in a joint operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force yesterday.

The team stopped a SUV car coming from Barabanki at the the crossing here and seized 1,200 gm of heroin worth Rs 1.20 crore in the international market, sources in the STF said.

The accused told police that they supplied the contraband to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi after treating the raw material, which was obtained from Malda in West Bengal, they said.
 

A case has been registered and a probe is on in the matter, the sources said.
