4 arrested with narcotics in separate incidents in JK

Four suspected drug peddlers were arrested and over 25 kg of heroin, cannabis and poppy were allegedly seized from them in three separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

A police team intercepted two persons in Mughal Maidan area in Kishtwar district and recovered 1.10 kg of cannabis from their possession last evening, police officials said.

Both persons were arrested and a case has been registered, they said.

In another incident, a police team seized 90 grams of heroin from two alleged drug peddlers at Jewel chowk in Jammu, they said, adding that a case has been registered against the accused.
 

Also, acting on a specific information, police team intercepted a truck on the highway at Jajjar Kotli in Jammu district and recovered 25 kg of poppy from it, they said.

Though the truck driver managed to flee the spot, the truck has been seized and a case has been registered in this connection, police said.
