4 BJP MLAs resign from Rajasthan Assembly

Four BJP MLAs today resigned from the Rajasthan Assembly after they were elected as MPs in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

The four MPs -- Om Birla, Bahadur Koli, Santosh Ahlawat and Sanwar Lal Jat, who were elected to the Lok Sabha from Kota, Bharatpur, Jhunjhunu and Ajmer constituencies respectively, submitted their resignation to Assembly Speaker Kailash Meghwal, a spokesperson said.

Birla represented Kota South, while Koli and Ahlawat were MLAs from Weir and Surajgarh constituency respectively, Jat represented Nasirabad assembly constituency in the state Assembly of 200 members.

BJP clinched all the 25 seats from the state in the Lok Sabha elections and of the four MLAs, who were elected MPs, Jat was the State Water Resources Minister.
